My name is Jessica Williams and I am a self-taught Melbourne based artist.

I find my inspiration in the beauty of nature, whether it is the serene beauty of the sea, wildlife, flora, the exploration of traveling, or colours mixing on a palette together. My artistic journey is deeply influenced by my overseas experience, where I have encountered vibrant cultures and stunning landscapes that continue to shape my work whether it may be obvious or not. Although each culture is different there always seems to be a sense of beauty to witness.

My art tends to resonate with a unique sense of wonder and innocence whilst also ever-changing, although there are times inspiration strikes but fades mid-completion, I always come back to it down the road with better ideas, driven by a constant desire to experiment and explore new techniques. Whether sparked by my surroundings, an intense feeling, or even a simple quote, my art is a canvas for expressing the unexplainable, never losing my child-like self. The beauty of art lies in its ability to convey complex, unexplainable feelings, and it is fascinating how viewers often interpret my work in ways that differ from my own intentions.
As an artist with ADHD, I constantly crave diving into every creative field, chasing the spark of inspiration wherever it appears. That drive comes with its own challenges — like staying motivated — but it also fuels my need to paint and create as a source of dopamine and balance. I pour my heart and spirit into each piece, often losing myself so completely in the act of painting that my emotions and moods flow directly onto the canvas. Many times, I don’t even realize the story a piece is telling until it’s finished. That process of discovery is both thrilling and humbling, and even naming a painting can feel like the hardest step once I’ve deciphered its meaning. Each work becomes a journey of its own, evolving as I grow, while also inviting others to step into a new perspective and experience the world through a different lens.
